Lenders that use Encompass® Partner Connect (EPC) by ICE Mortgage Technology® Inc. can stay in their familiar loan origination system and place real estate appraisal orders directly into Appraisal FirewallX. Once orders have been placed, users will receive status updates, send anonymous messages to appraisers, and receive their completed appraisals back into Encompass - all while complying with appraisal independence regulations.


Setup Requirements - Appraisal FirewallX

To use the EPC to Appraisal FirewallX integration, you must have your company setup in Appraisal FirewallX with an Administrator user, an appraiser panel, plus any Loan Officers, Processors, or other mortgage department staff.

 

Any Encompass users that you want placing orders to Appraisal FirewallX should have an email address and a password setup in Appraisal FirewallX.

 

Customize Returned Fields and Documents in Appraisal FirewallX

You can customize Encompass settings to better fit the needs of your organization. By default, all data fields and documents listed in the Encompass Settings window will be retrieved back into Encompass, but you can adjust these to suit the needs of your company. For instance, if the Appraisal XML is unnecessary for the loan file, you can disable this option to minimize non-essentials within Encompass. Should you not want the Appraisal Fee to be populated, you can disable it to keep it from being returned to the specified Encompass field. Any field that you disable on the Encompass Settings window will prevent it from being populated in Encompass.

 


Administrator users can view and adjust the Encompass returned fields and documents by accessing the gear icon in the upper left-hand side of their account and expanding the option for Encompass Settings.
 

Please note: The ability to view and edit your Encompass Settings is controlled by your account manager. If you do not have the Encompass Settings option after clicking the gear icon, contact your account manager to have it enabled.


Access the Encompass Admin Portal – Web Based

Access the Encompass Admin Portal via https://encompass.ice.com. Enter your Instance ID and select Next. Your Instance ID is provided by an Encompass Administrator.

Users will automatically be directed to the User ID and Password page. Enter both fields with your credentials and select Log In

Upon a successful login, users will be directed to the Encompass Admin dashboard. Please note that the Admin dashboard is only available to a Super Administrator role

 

 

Access the Encompass Admin Portal via SmartClient

You can access the new, web-based version of Encompass via your Encompass desktop icon. From the Encompass Launcher, input your SmartClientID. Once the credentials have been provided, select the Login button. 

 

 

Upon successful login to SmartClient, select the Encompass tab along the top left, then choose Settings

When the Encompass Settings window populates, select Settings Overview. To the right, look for the heading Encompass – Web Version Settings. Click on the Web Version Settings link.

The user will be directed to the Encompass Admin Portal.

Encompass Configuration – Adding Appraisal FirewallX 

To setup the Appraisal FirewallX interface in Encompass, you will need to add Appraisal FirewallX to your Services Management overview list. Follow these instructions.

1. Login to your Encompass account, then expand the Services section. 


2. Select Services Management. Any existing services you have set up will be listed on this page. 


3. Along the right-hand side of the layout, choose the Add Service button.



4. Any array of Available Services may be listed. To narrow the results, we would recommend utilizing the Category filter and choosing Appraisal. Find Appraisal Firewall in the card view of providers. Select Manual.  












5. Complete the required fields: Service Setup Name and Authorized Users. Once finished, select Save. Cancel will return you to the previous Services Management overview list. Please note setting the provider to have the Active indicator On will ensure the Appraisal Firewall is listed when launching Services from the loan file. By default, the Active indicator will be set to Off

6. When adding Authorized Users, select the Add button.

7. From the Add Entities window, choose the appropriate Category to apply to the Selected Users column. Please note that you can select multiple users at once to be moved under the Selected Users panel. Once the necessary users have been added, select Add. Choosing Cancel will take the user back to the previous screen.
