Administrators that have access to Relationships can update an appraiser's or appraiser member's Settings, via the Lender Appraisers tab. This accessibility can aid in assisting your appraisers with any obstacles they may encounter when maintaining their Appraisal Firewall account and ensure you have accurate contact information.

To edit an appraiser's or appraiser member's settings, select Relationships along the left-hand side of the screen. Along the top, choose the Lender Appraisers tab.

Select an appraiser or appraiser group from your Lender Appraisers list and expand the arrow to the right.

Along the right-hand side of the screen, select Edit Settings.

This will present you with the full extent of an appraiser's settings.

By default, each section is auto-collapsed. To edit an appraiser's settings, you will need to expand the appropriate section via the arrow to the right.

Edit an Appraiser Member's Settings

Look for an appraiser group on the Lender Appraisers tab and expand the arrow to the right. Access the Group Member tab to display the list of appraiser members.

Expand the appraiser member you want to apply edits to by accessing the arrow to the right of the group member name. From the member Settings tab, select Edit Settings.

The following sections explain how to individually update any/all of the appraiser's or appraiser member's settings.

Edit Appraisal Types

The Appraisal Types section designates what types of appraisals the appraiser or appraiser member is eligible to perform. At least one of these options will be enabled. Any and all combinations of these types can be applied.

  • Residential – Applies to all orders marked as Residential by the lender and determines assignment eligibility. For example, an appraiser that only marks Commercial would not be eligible to receive orders designated as Residential or Verisite Photo Agent.
  • Commercial – Applies to all orders marked as Commercial by the lender and determines assignment eligibility. For example, an appraiser that only enables Residential would not be eligible to receive orders designated as Commercial or Verisite Photo Agent.
  • Verisite Photo Agent – Applies to all orders created as the Verisite Mobile Property Inspection tool. With Verisite placed orders, you take photos of the subject property through the Verisite app on your mobile device.

Making any edits to the Appraisal Types will require you to select the SAVE button at the bottom.

Once Save is selected, an overlay will appear addressing that the edits made to the appraiser's settings are Pending until the appraiser approves the edits. Please note: you MUST click on the Close button. This action triggers the email notification sent to the appraiser or appraiser group administrator to review and approve the settings edits made on their behalf.

The appraiser or appraiser group administrator will receive an email notification alerting them of the lender that has initiated edits to their settings. From the email notification, the appraiser or appraiser group administrator can approve or deny the changes. Additionally, when an appraiser logs into their account directly, they will be presented with an overlay displaying what fields have been updated. Upon approval, the updated information will be adjusted. Should the appraiser or appraiser group administrator deny the changes, no lender made edits will be applied.

Edit Licenses

The Licenses section is where appraisers choose the state(s) they are qualified to perform appraisals, enter their License Number and License Expiration Date (if the state prefers the 'license' moniker), enter Certification Number and Certification Expiration Date (if the state prefers the 'certification' moniker), designate if the appraiser is eligible to perform FHA appraisal reports, and upload a PDF version of the license.

Most often you will be assisting the appraiser in updating the License and/or Certification Expiration Date and uploading the new PDF version of the license. Please note: you MUST enter the expiration date via the calendar date chooser. The expiration date IS NOT extracted from the uploaded PDF version of the license. The expiration date(s) entered in the Licenses section is how the system determines if the appraiser can accept and/or deliver an appraisal report. To add a new PDF version of the license that the appraiser has sent to you, add the PDF via the ADD ATTACHMENT button or Drag File(s) Here. The uploaded license will reflect the file name under Replace License PDF section.

View Pending Changes

Until the appraiser approves or denies the changes, fellow Administrators will see the Notes tab highlighted in yellow within the Parties tab of an order when selecting Assign Appraiser, via Manage Appraisers, and when refreshing the Lender Appraisers tab.

The Notes tab will also act as the edit log, so Administrators can see who initiated the settings changes and when those changes were submitted. Once the appraiser approves or denies the changes, the Notes tab will revert to its previous color, i.e. gray or green.
