Appraisal Firewall Updates Available in Encompass
Scheduled for Friday Morning, February 11th, 2022

Release Information for Lenders

Starting Friday morning, February 11th, 2022, the Appraisal Firewall to Encompass integration will have three new enhancements available to you. These time-saving features will greatly improve upon the Appraisal Firewall-Encompass connection.  Those new features available are VA Case Number Omits Dashes, Borrower POC Field Returned, and the Estimated Closing Date imports to the new order screen.  Read on for a complete description of each Encompass enhancement we are introducing.

VA Case Number Dashes Automatically Omitted to Save You Time
Through our introduction of the Appraisal Firewall-VA Portal connection, VA orders are permitted to be placed and retrieved directly through Encompass. To ensure users can work faster with VA orders, you will no longer need to manually remove the dashes from the VA Case Number to get the full case number into the appropriate field!

How To Use This Feature:

There is nothing you need to do to enable this feature. When you select Retrieve from the eFolder in Encompass, the VA Case Number will automatically be mapped to field 1040, without the dashes. Now the entirety of the VA Case Number will be displayed, with all twelve digits included.
Borrower POC Field Returned to Encompass
The Appraisal Firewall integration with Encompass allows for a variety of data fields to be sent back to Encompass, providing processors with the information necessary to fulfill a loan’s requirements. We have added the option within the lender Encompass Settings to have the Amount charged to borrower cc field returned directly to Encompass upon retrieval. Please note that this field will only reflect an amount if a borrower’s credit card was used to place the appraisal order

How To Use This Feature:

To enable this feature, login to your Appraisal Firewall Administrator account, select the lender settings icon in the upper left-hand side of the screen, and expand the Encompass Settings section.

Under the Returned Fields heading, look for the Appraisal Fee (641). Listed as a sub-setting, Amount charged to borrower CC will be available to enable. Please note that the Appraisal Fee must be enabled to access and enable the Amount charged to borrower cc.

Once the setting has been enabled, scroll to the bottom of the Encompass Settings section, and SAVE.

From Services tab within Encompass, select the 2015 Itemization option, choose Itemization along the top, and then click the tab adjacent to the Appraisal Fee section (field 804).

Under Fee Details, the total amount charged to the borrower’s credit card for the appraisal order will be displayed within the Borrower POC field.

Estimated Closing Date Auto-Populated on New Orders
In our January 21st system update, we introduced the addition of the Estimated Closing Date as an available field on the new order screen, property information, dashboard customizer, and custom reporting features. The full announcement can be found HEREWe are now including this field to be automatically imported to the framed-in Appraisal Firewall New Order screen to save you time from re-keying data.

How To Use This Feature:

Enter the Estimated Closing Date in field 763 (which can be found within the Borrower Summary – Origination form) during the loan creation in Encompass. When you launch the framed-in version of Appraisal Firewall, the Estimated Closing Date will now be displayed in the Estimated Closing field within the Loan section on the new order screen. Upon placement, the Estimated Closing Date will also be available on the property information.
